WHAT IS ALLULOSE?
A groundbreaking sweetener that does not impact blood sugar levels NRG Complete Bar is sweetened with allulose, a monosaccharide epimer of fructose, formally called D-psicose. Humans lack the enzymes to digest allulose, so it is largely excreted, but without the unpleasant GI eects induced by certain sugar alcohols. Allulose is excreted  primarily in the urine and has very low colonic microbial fermentability. It’s an ideal sweetener for those on ketogenic or reduced carbohydrate diets, as it does not impact blood glucose or insulin levels when consumed in reasonable amounts.
